Logo Design Contest for the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art

The Leslie/Lohman Gay Art Foundation is now the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art, and we’re launching this phase of our growth with a new logo.

We are holding a contest seeking design ideas from our talented pool of artists and associates, and the winning artist will receive a prize of $1,500.

About the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art

Now accredited as the first dedicated LGBTQ art museum in the world, the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art began as the Leslie/Lohman Gay Art Foundation founded by Charles W. Leslie and Fritz Lohman, and for more than 20 years has supported gay and lesbian artists.

Our mission is to exhibit, preserve and foster the creation of LGBTQ art and artists which speaks directly to a gay and lesbian experience, including erotic, political, romantic and social imagery. We embrace this rich creative history by informing, inspiring, entertaining and challenging all who enter our doors.

Design Requirements

Familiarize yourself with the mission of the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art
Your design must include the double L’s of “Leslie-Lohman” (as shown above)
Designs should be B&W and may use 1 additional color
Your design must be scalable in size from small (postage stamp size) to large (banner size)
Include the words “Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art” in the design
For each design, submit one black and white version and one color version (if applicable)
For the winning design, we will require a low res/web version (.jpg), high res/print version (.tiff), and a master file (Adobe Illustrator/.ai)

Submission Instructions

You may submit up to three (3) designs
Submit one (1) design per email
Send design submission(s) only as .jpg files, sized at 150 DPI (longest edge 900 pixels)
Include your name in every file name that you submit (example: firstname_lastname_01.jpg)
Email design(s) to llmlogo@gmail.com by midnight on Friday, February 10, 2012
No late submissions accepted. No hand-delivered or mailed applications accepted.

Contest Rules

By submitting your design, you certify the following statement:
"I certify that I am the author of the material I am submitting to Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art and its licensees, and that it may reproduce, distribute, publish, display, edit, modify, create derivative works and otherwise use the material for any purpose in any form and on any media. I agree to indemnify Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art for all damages and expenses that may be incurred in connection with the material."
One (1) winner will be selected by the Board of Directors, Co-Founder and Museum staff.
The winning artist will receive a prize of $1,500. As the winning artist, you may use your design

in your portfolio and we will credit you on the museum website.
If entries do not meet with approval by the Board of Directors, the Museum reserves the right

not to use any entries and may also seek additional sources for our logo.
Winner will be notified via email by February 28, 2012.
