Leslie-Lohman is Moving! In July of 2005 LLGAF will take possession of 3600 square feet of beautiful street-level space at 26 Wooster St. in SoHo. We will be located only a few minutes from our present space at 127B Prince St. which will remain in our possession and will be used for our archive and certain special programs. We look forward to a gala opening. ATTENTION ARCHITECTS Re our new space at 26 Wooster St., we must first begin with the demolition of existing interior elements and then proceed to the construction of a brilliant multi-purpose design for the gallery’s exhibitions and its many special programs. The design must includebut is not limited toan impressive reception desk/counter/clerical area near the entrance, an office area (probably in the rear) with space for three desks and computers with bank of filing cabinets, a public restroom near the front and a staff restroom in the rear, a cloakroom niche for openings and special events, a receiving area with “in” and “out” sections with facilities for paper, tape, bubble wrap, mailing labels etc., a rear “viewing salon” for members of the public to review work not available in the current exhibition, “shop” space for work tables for exhibition preparation (framing, mat cutting, etc.) with storage for tools, supplies, paints, brushes and a large “work sink”, a storage space for portable folding tables and chairs for special events (lectures etc.), A space in the rear for a really big refrigerator for “vernisage” wine etc., andchallenginglya number of movable “floating “ walls to increase or decrease total hanging space as the need arises with, of course, an appropriate system for storing them when not in use. A state of the art lighting system with proper storage for fixtures, bulbs, electrical equipment etc.anda beautiful new floor. (Note; the space has two rather small, low ceiling basements which can nonetheless be used for some parts of the above.)...It should be clearly understood that, as a small non-profit arts foundation we have limited financial resources If you or anyone you know is interested in this enterprise please call LLGAF at 212-673-7007. — CL |
