THE LONELY ROAD

Once a fool, always a fool
I thought I was your friend
I believed you felt the same
I thought we were drawing closer
That was all in vain

Lovers only in dreams
One-sided, unrequited
The dispair of the knife
You tell me of someone else
Your dream lover

It's not me
I should have known
Blindly, foolishly I hoped
Still...
It's not me
Who captured your eyes

It's not me you hold in your heart

If not lovers now, it will never be
Even a fool can see that
The light shining in your eyes
Is not for me
Then again, who is?

Perhaps this is my destiny
To walk the Lonely Road

I wonder, will anyone ever want me?
Is this my Fate, to spend my life alone?
No one to hold me
No dances, no romances
No echoes of laughter
Only the tears
This is the Living Death
