Plans Announced for the
Second Leslie-Lohman Gay Art Foundation Tour: Malta
By Charles Leslie

Because of the great success of our Sicily-Reggio Calabria tour, LLGAF is once again sponsoring a wonderfully sophisticated tour in October of 2003. Although the tour begins in Sicily, featuring fascinating places not visited on our first tour (Ragusa, Modica, Ibla Antica), the centerpiece of the journey will be the legendary island state of Malta - one of the great crossroads of history in every age known to man.

The tour will begin on Tuesday, October 7th at our meeting place in Catania, Sicily and end on Wednesday, October 15th at our place of departure from Malta International Airport. Transportation from the U.S. to Catania and from Malta back to the U.S. is the responsibility of the individual traveler. All other travel is included in the price of the tour.

As in our first tour, private receptions and luncheons in aristocratic homes will be a prominent feature of our visit beginning with a lunch given by the Baron Beneventano on the Cyano River on the day of
our arrival.

The touring schedule is replete with reknowned archaeological sites, great works of art, such as "The Beheading of St. John The Baptist" by Caravaggio, and immemorial architectural treasures.

The cost for double occupancy is $2,900 or $3,200 for single occupancy. These prices include everything but the airplane tickets.

For more detailed information contact our tour director and organizer, Anna Canepa, at 212-343-7463.
